Mr. Altorelli represents private equity funds, hedge funds, venture capital funds, publicly traded companies, investment banks, financial institutions, entrepreneurs, emerging-growth companies and privately held companies in a variety of industries, including financial services, real estate, insurance, apparel, biosciences, software, Internet, media, energy and communications.

 

Mr. Altorelli has extensive experience in the financial services and private equity industry. His representation of private equity funds includes Blackstone, KKR, AEA Investors, Madison Dearborn, FdG Partners, Oak Hill Capital Partners, Prospect Street Capital, AXA Private Equity, Canaan Partners and Conning Capital Partners. His representation of hedge funds includes Ivory Capital, G2 Group, Arcstone Value Fund, Da Vinci Capital Management, CAM NewMarkets Partners, Spencer Capital, Samson Capital Advisors, Value Fund Advisors, and Zimmer Lucas Capital. His representation of financial institutions includes State Street Bank, State Street Global Advisors, Capmark Financial Group, Bank of America, Bear Stearns, Accredited Home Lenders, American Express, Mercer, Novastar, NYMagic, RVI Group, Student Loan Corporation, The World Bank, and GE Capital.

 

Representative Transactions

• Capmark Financial Group in connection with the sale of its North American servicing and mortgage banking businesses to a joint venture of Berkshire Hathaway and Leucadia National Corporation for approximately $1.3 billion, including servicing advances and warehouse loans.

• Central Media Europe in connection with the sale of 31% of its interest to Time Warner Cable for $241.5 million.

• The Blackstone Group in connection with the acquisition of Encore Medical Corporation for approximately $870 million.

• Kohlberg Kravis Roberts & Co. in connection with $8.8 billion acquisition of GMAC Commercial Mortgage Holding Corp. (now Capmark Financial Group).

• AEA Investors Inc. in connection with $250 million private placement in XM Satellite Radio Holdings Inc.

• Capmark Financial Group Inc. in connection with the sale of its affordable housing debt business to Citigroup for $1.2 billion in cash and assumption of debt.

• NovaStar Financial, Inc. in connection with the private placement of approximately $49 million in convertible preferred stock.

• Accredited Home Lenders in connection with a $230 million secured loan from Farallon Capital and subsequent $300 million acquisition by Lone Star.
